Rioja Alavesa is a unique world between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River. This area is the southernmost and sunniest region of Euskadi. Fifteen municipalities and little more than 300 square kilometers. Character and strength in a patchwork of small vineyards, which constitute a privileged place for viticulture.
This land has historically led the progress of viticulture. Since the eighteenth century, many of its inhabitants have been true pioneers, who have based their contributions on the potential of the native red variety, Tempranillo. It is an early ripening grape that gives elegant and profound wines. Beside it, the white Viura, which is all sweetness and aroma, is the other major native vine.
Our cellar is deeply identified with the features of this territory. With its continental climate with Mediterranean influence. With the entrepreneurial spirit of its people, its future. The history of Luberri Monje Amestoy is already part of the recent history of Rioja Alavesa. And today our wines represent a unique way to understand this land. |
